Start with what the shot needs
Plan a 5–15 second shot in H3 Max. For a character reference, first choose images that define the appearance, then describe the action. Standard H3 and Max Turbo may have different settings. The limits below apply to H3 Max.
Supported settings for H3 Max
- Duration
- 5–15 seconds for H3 Max. Check the selected form for other variants.
- Resolution
- 480P, 768P or 1080P.
- Input modes
- Text, first/last frames or reference-based generation.
- Reference images
- Up to 9 images.
- Reference video and audio
- Up to 3 videos and 3 audio files, with a separate 15-second total for each type.
- Input separation
- First/last frames are not mixed with reference files in one request; audio cannot be the only input.
H3, Max and Turbo are different choices
H3 Max offers 480P, 768P or 1080P output. When switching to standard H3 or Max Turbo, check the selected form rather than assuming the same options are available.
The generation button shows the current credit cost. H3 Max limits on this page are not a promise about the other models in the family.
Frame control or references?
Use frame mode when you want to define the beginning or end of a shot. Switch to reference mode when working with several sources for appearance or motion. In H3 Max, do not combine first/last-frame inputs with the reference list in one request.
Explain the purpose of the source in your prompt. Describe camera movement clearly, and avoid asking for conflicting actions within the same shot. Let the form finish preparing and validating files before submitting.
Choose output settings for the intended use
In the H3 Max form, choose your framing, then a supported duration and resolution. The credit cost changes with the selected settings. A reference-based job can have different requirements from text-only generation, so check the displayed cost before sending it.
Preview the result when it is ready, then download it from the same screen. For a longer edit, plan separate shots instead of fitting a whole story into one short clip.
Questions about the MiniMax H3 family
- How can I keep the same character across different scenes?
- Use the same character images in H3 Max reference mode. Keep the outfit and distinctive facial features consistent. References guide the appearance; they do not lock an identical face into every shot.
- I want the character to walk, but the camera keeps circling. What should I write?
- Describe the character and camera separately: “The character walks from left to right. The camera stays fixed in front.” Try that shot first. Add a camera move only if the scene needs one; conflicting directions can obscure the action.
- Can I try a movement from another video with my own character?
- In H3 Max reference mode, add your character image and the video you want to use for movement. Explain which source guides the appearance and which guides the action. The result may not reproduce the source video exactly.
- Can I decide how a shot starts and ends?
- H3 Max frame mode lets you guide the shot with start and end images. Describe the movement between them in the prompt; very different images can lead to unexpected transitions. Frame mode cannot be combined with reference files.
- What can I try when hands or faces distort during movement?
- Simplify the action and try a source image with a clearer view of the face or hands. Reducing fast turns and movements that cover the face is a useful next test. No prompt can eliminate these distortions entirely.
